ELITE DEVELOPMENT RACE

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

2026 ELITE DEVELOPMENT RACE

We’re excited to host two days of premier Elite Development Races in Clermont - the leading draft-legal event in the United States where top athletes come to compete. The depth of competition here makes Clermont a pivotal stepping stone, as placement in the overall standings is often a key factor in advancing to World Triathlon events.

DISTANCE: 750 meter swim (1 loop), 20K bike (4 loops), 5K run (two loops)

AGE REQUIREMENTS: The minimum age requirement is 16 years of age and a maximum age of 25 years of age (age on 12/31/26).

RACE CAPACITY: The race field will be capped at 90 athletes, giving competitors the chance to be part of an exclusive and highly field. Athletes will line up in two rows of 45, spaced 5 feet apart, ensuring a fair and thrilling start (see video below). Bib numbers are assigned in the exact order of registration - so the sooner you sign up, the closer you’ll be to the front.

TOP FINISHERS: The top three (3) U.S. athletes on both Day 1 and Day 2 will earn the opportunity to apply for a USA Triathlon (USAT) discretionary Elite License. Competing in Clermont means racing against one of the strongest fields in the country, and a high placement here can play a pivotal role in launching your path toward World Triathlon events.

OTHER: Current USAT Elite License holders and non-U.S. athletes are permitted to compete in Clermont - including all U23 Elite Athletes.

RULES: The rules governing this USA Triathlon sanctioned event will follow the USA Triathlon Multisport Competition Rules (see the link below)

The LAP OUT RULE will be in effect for BOTH days.
